Clayton Raifsnider

Clayton L. Raifsnider, age 82, of Portage, MI passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 15, 1934 in Constantine, MI a son of Leo and Irene (Preston) Raifsnider. Clayton retired from the Upjohn Company. On August 7, 1965 Clayton married the former Margo L. Wall who preceded him in death on September 3, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clifford Raifsnider and a son-in-law, Merle Bowlby. Surviving are 5 children, Beth Bowlby, Todd (Marcia) Raifsnider, Michelle (David E.) Stafford, Marie (Abe) Dunning and Clayton (Sherry) Raifsnider; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Wigner and Nancy DePriester; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6-8pm and on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 10-11am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a memorial service will be held at 11am Thursday. Private inurnment will take place in Portage South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethesda Ranch or Southern Care Hospice.
