Christopher Darling

Christopher Darling left his loving parents, Deborah and Craig, his wife and soul mate of five years, Elaine, his six siblings, Kirsten, Aaron, Brittany, Kirk, Kyle, Collin and myriads of friends bereft of his earthly presence. He is fondly remembered for his contagious personality, wit, creativity and compassion. Christopher graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Michigan, and was an award winning graduate of School of Visual Arts in NYC where he earned his Masters in illustration. In 2013 he married his soul mate, Elaine Fowler, on the beach of Lake Michigan. Christopher and Elaine made their home in Cleveland where he was an associate professor of Illustration and Digital Design at Kent State University. He was a beloved colleague and teacher. In recent years he has produced a much acclaimed body of work and received many awards. The focus of much of his art was social justice and his compassion for the needy and oppressed touched many lives. Christopher also leaves behind a son to be born in October.
