Charles E. Thompkins, age 64, passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2017. Charles was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas on the Fourth of July, 1953, son of the late William and Jessie Mae (nee: Smith) Thompkins.

Following graduation from high school, Charles moved up to Kenosha to be nearer his older brother, William. On February 19, 1977 in Kenosha, he was united in marriage to Bennie “Cookie” Ellis. They shared twenty one years together before Cookie preceded him in death on September 25, 1998. Charles was employed with American Brass for thirty years and was last employed as a security guard. Throughout his life he amassed quite a collection of comic books among other collectibles.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jeremy (Shana) Ellis; grandchildren, Ke’shawn, Tynarra, Jeremiah and Janessa; great grandchildren, Zaydan and Zionna; brothers, Albert, Thomas and Elijah Thompkins; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann (Ron) Leek, Joe (Theresa) Ellis, Janice Ellis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his brothers, William, Frank and Andrew.

Funeral services will be held at Fellowship of Christian Believers Church, 703 Washington Avenue, Racine on Saturday November 18, 2017, 10:00 a.m., with Charles’ nephew Pastor Bill Thompkins officiating. Interment will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
