Surrounded by his loving family, Charles “Chuck” G. Petersen, age 70, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 joining his wife, Cheri in heaven. Chuck was born in Racine, July 13, 1945, son of the late Walter and Arlene (Nee: Jorgensen) Petersen. He was affectionately known as “Chuck” “Charlie” and “Tuna”.

Chuck graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1963”. Chuck proudly served In the United States Air Force as a Sergeant in communications from 1965-1969, stationed in Kalispell, Montana and Thailand. Chuck was a longtime member of Christ Church United Methodist where he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Cheri Knop, on October 29, 1966. He was employed in the family business at Frederick Manufacturing as owner and also served as President. Chuck was a member of the Racine Moose Lodge, Racine Jaycees, and the Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, card playing, “especially on-line spades for hours with his brother”, trips to the casino, and city league softball. More than anything he treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandkids.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Chad Petersen, Carrie (Michael) Scheckler, Cory (Erika) Petersen; daughter-in-law, Carrie Lynn Petersen; his twelve grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary, Amanda, Morgan, Angelina, Cody, Katerina, Cameron, Alexander, Brenden, Emily, and Lacey; his great-grandchildren, Adrina, Brody, Mashawna, and Nevaeh; sister, Debra (Eugene) Horvath; brother, James (Shirley) Petersen; brother-in-law, Gary Scheel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick and Patricia Knop; sister-in-law, Susan Scheel.

Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Avenue, with Rev. George Kafer officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M.
