She was 78 years old, born November 13, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she resided for her entire life. She had spent many winter months in the past decade in Lakeland, Florida which is where she was when she entered hospice care after suffering from a fall and multiple setbacks from infection. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Charles and Theresa Molhoek. She married Jon W. Slager on June 2, 1961 who was the love of her life. She gave birth to four children, and she was grateful to God for helping her raise three wonderful children to adulthood. She lost one of her children when he was seven years old. She spent many years teaching children piano, leading Bible studies at Comstock Christian Reformed Church and later with Gracespring Church, and was an avid bridge player. Her husband was the last celery grower in Kalamazoo with J.W. Slager and Son Farms. She wanted to be known for her love of the Lord, her love of her family and her love of laughter. She is preceded in death by her husband Jon W. Slager on January 28, 2000 and her son, Steven Slager in 1971 She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Jeffrey (Sue) Slager, Joel (Lori) Slager, and Penny (Michael) Tullis.
