Castulo Mares

Castulo Mares, age 86, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Castulo was born in Apaseo, Nieves, Mexico, July 26, 1929, son of the late Andres and Sara (Nee: Adame) Mares.

He was united in marriage to Olimpia Gonzalez who preceded him in death. Castulo loved playing the violin.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Elia (Francisco) Cruz, Efrain (Elva) Mares, Javier (Ernestina) Mares, Gloria (Antonio) Manrique, Noel (Doreen) Mares, Maria de Garcia, Fidelina (Enrique) Chairez, Silvia (Salomon) Becerra, Manuel (Carolina) Mares; 44 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; his son-in-law, Luis Estrada; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Socorro Estrada.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 3, 2015, 10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street, with Rev. Gerardo Hessel officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:30 A.M.
