Carolyn Swisher

Carolyn Swisher, 75 of Traverse City, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016. Carolyn was born October 8, 1940 to the late Joseph and Ignota Bussa.

Carolyn was very active in miniatures and loved her flowers and camping. Carolyn also loved to travel and has visited many places in the United States with her most recent trip being visiting Ireland. She was a very loving person to all her family and many friends and always thought of others first.

On February 29, 1959 Carolyn married Edward Swisher of Thompsonville who survives. Carolyn is also survived by her loving sister Bonnie Young, her three sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Tammy Swisher, Darrell and Brenda Swisher and Ray and Sharon Swisher. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two nephews.

Carolyn retired from the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District after 30 years of employment. Carolyn loved to work with the children and stayed friends with many of the staff. She was instrumental in the start of Paperworks at the school.

The Swisher family will receive family and friends for visitation Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm at Life Story Funeral Home on Munson Avenue in Traverse City. Cremation will take place and burial to be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens at a later date.
