Carolyn Shields

Shields, Carolyn Ruth (Rode) 11/14/1935 - 5/19/2021 Kalamazoo Carolyn (Rode) Shields of Delton peacefully went home to be with her God and Savior, Jesus Christ with her daughter by her side singing hymns and her beloved birds singing along outside her window on May 19, 2021 . Preceded in death are her partner Wayne Knobloch, son Gregory Shields, father Joseph Rode, mother Agnes Rode, sisters Frances (Rode) Boonstra, and Anne Rode. She is survived by her daughter Lori (Shields) McFarland, siblings Louise (Rode) Kane, Pauline (Rode) Bonham (Wade), and Joseph Rode (Gania), and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Woodward Baptist Church, 2160 76th St SW, Byron Center, MI 49315 on Friday, June 11, 2021. Family will greet visitors at 10:00 a.m. Services begin at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to immediately follow.
