Carolyn Ann Allen

Allen, Carolyn Ann Carolyn Ann Allen, age 84, of Portage passed away following a brief illness on October 18, 2022. She was born February 28, 1938, in Flint, Michigan to the late Ralph Theodore and Eleanor Marion (Kern) Krapohl. A lifelong Michigan resident, she called Flint, Saginaw, Frankenmuth, and Portage home. Carolyn was an exceptional homemaker, accomplished seamstress, and avid gardener who lived for her family. Some of her greatest loves were spending time outdoors, keeping her yard in pristine condition, and walking her beloved dog, Pepper. Carolyn took pride in keeping her mind sharp. From word games to puzzles, she never missed an opportunity to improve her keen intellect. As a daily participant in Wordle, she leads her family with an impressive win streak of 248 days. Carolyn will forever be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, and loving heart. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Kenneth Krapohl, Lora Nicholson, and William Krapohl. She is survived by her loving children, Julie Allen, Amy (Randy) Thomas, and David (Melissa) Allen, and their father, Jerry Allen; grandchildren, Christopher Allen, Rebecca (Brennan Sorenson) Allen, Rachel Allen, Shelby (Rudy) Ramirez, Kelsey Brightbill; great grandchildren, Noah, Carter, and Aren; brother, James (Laurel) Krapohl; best friend, Pepper; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Following Carolyn's wishes, cremation will take place, and a memorial celebration will be held in the Spring.
