Caroline Regina Schneider, age 91, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. She was born in Elroy, WI, February 17, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Nee: Vanetta) Stanek. Caroline was raised in Elroy and moved to Chicago at age 16.

Following WWII she moved to Racine and met the love of her life, Michael J. Schneider and on May 30, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church they were united in marriage for 67 years. Mike passed away April 28, 2015. Caroline was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and was a Cub Scout Den Mother when her boys were growing up. She had been employed as a switch board operator at Western Printing and for 35 years as a bookkeeper for J & F Auto Glass. Caroline will be remembered for her friendly demeanor while waitressing at Wells Brothers and The Spinning Wheel Restaurants. She enjoyed vacationing in Hayward at Liberty Lodge and trips to the casino. Above all it was time spent with her family that she treasured most especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Linda (Thomas) Boldus, Brian Schneider, Kent (Jean) Schneider, Mary (Mike) Stevens; grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Trudeau, Eric (Kaylan) Boldus, Michael and Alyssa Schneider, Kyle Schneider, Grant, Sally, Joseph, and Emily Stevens; four great-grandchildren, Cody and Sophia Boldus, Richard and Carson Trudeau; siblings, Dorothy Waltenberger, Ramona Petersen, William Stanek, James (Cathy) Stanek, Winifred (James) Hill; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Sally) Stanek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 2, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green Street with Reverend Steve Verghase officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M. Memorials for Masses have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Caroline’s dear friend Joan Knautz for her love and support and to Kerri Schey for her kindness and care.
