Caroline Bloomfield

Caroline E. Bloomfield, age 76, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Caroline was born in Kalamazoo on July 20, 1940 to the late William, Sr. and Elma Pierce. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. Caroline was the owner of B & B Janitorial, Duck Inn Waddle Out, Breakaway Lounge and the Country Palace for many years; as well as holding many other real estate investments. She enjoyed K-Wings hockey games, playing bingo and spending time on the lake. Caroline married James Bloomfield, Sr. on March 27, 1960 and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2000. She is survived by her children, Jim, Jr. (Sandy), David and Mark Bloomfield; grandchildren, James III, Devin, Shawnee and Justin and great-grandchild, Zoe. Also surviving are her brother, William II (Darlene) Pierce and sister, Carrie (Don) Rice. In addition to her husband, Caroline was preceded in death by her sister, Kristin Gonzales. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lending Hands of Michigan, Inc., c/o the funeral home.
