Carol Passavant

Carol Sue Passavant, 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at 11:07pm in Kalamazoo, MI surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born in Ann Arbor, MI on March 1st, 1944 and grew up in Cadillac, MI. After graduating from Western Michigan University with a teaching degree in Special Education, she married her college sweetheart in 1966. She then spent many wonderful years touching the lives of students and their families as a Special Ed. teacher in Kalamazoo and raising a beautiful family of her own. Since her retirement in 1999, she spent her time traveling the world with family & friends, gardening and trying her hand at beekeeping, working on her many creative home projects, and spending time with family. She was preceded by her parents Merritt and Helen Chandler, and her husband Richard A. Passavant. She is survived by her son Richard C. Passavant (Carrie), daughter Jennifer Passavant, and granddaughter Alaina Passavant. Memorial service details will be announced at a later date. She had a wonderful and witty sense of humor, was always warm and welcoming to others, and always there if you needed her.
