Carl Tanzer

Carl L Tanzer, age 66, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on August 8, 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital after an extended illness. Carl enjoyed a full life in Kalamazoo and will always be remembered for his smile and ability to make friends wherever he went. He would capture attention and hearts with his infectious smile and excitement. Before retiring he was employed by MRC industries and enjoyed attending WMU's Center for Disability Services. Carl enjoyed the simple things in life like reading the sports section of the Kalamazoo Gazette to keep up on the stats of his favorite teams, listening to the beats of his favorite Mariah Carey tunes on his Walkman cassette player, taking cruises and attending the WMU woman's volleyball games. Carl never forgot a face and treasured his relationships by photographing all his friends and adventures. Carl will be missed greatly by a wide circle of friends; including his St Martins and extended KCMHSAS families. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; William and Carol Tanzer of Kalamazoo. Please join us for a memorial service at St. Martin of Tours Church, 2010 Nichols Road, Kalamazoo, on Wednesday, August 17th at 11 a.m. A light luncheon will occur after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's memory may be made to St. Martins, Residential Opportunities, WMU Center for Disability Services or MRC Industries.
