Mr. William “Bud” Sytsema Jr. aged 89, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord on May 28, 2018. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and an exceptional grandfather and great grandfather as well as a leader in the Christian community. After a long and distinguished career as an executive at Bissell he had a great retirement filled with golf, wintering in Florida, and deep enjoyment of family and friends. Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean; children, Mary (Dave) Gritter, Bill (Jeanine) Sytsema, Sara Bruyn, Craig (Melissa) Sytsema and Jack (Rebecca) Sytsema; grandchildren, Kelly (Jason) Lovell, Kirsten (Spencer) Vereecken, Holly (Nathan) Kroeze, Jaclyn (Jared) Kukulies, Pamela Sytsema, Jonathan Sytsema, Imani Sytsema, Alex Bruyn, Ethan Bruyn, Zoe (Tom) Bouwkamp, Casey Sytsema, Elisabeth Sytsema, Nicholas Sytsema, Samuel Sytsema and Trey Sytsema; and great-grandchildren, Aniya, Wyatt, Jeanibelle, Deacon, C.J., Georgina, and Jack. Also surviving are his siblings, Phyl Mol, Marilyn (Cal) Cok and Bette (Glenn) Faber; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Laarman. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at West Leonard Christian Reformed Church, 1053 Leonard St. NW. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to Lake Effect Church.
