Campbell, Bryan John passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was born February 1, 1988 in Kalamazoo, MI, to Jim and Cathy Campbell. He was a lifelong area resident. Bryan was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, hiking, and being in nature. He had a love for classic rock, and history; he could quote details and dates of major historical events. He had a passion for reading and gift for writing and art. Philosophy, ethics and mythology were favorite topics. He was a voracious reader with an extensive vocabulary who could debate with the "best of them", and wouldn't hesitate to do so. He was gentle and compassionate, pursuing vocations that support those marginalized and underserved. Bryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Spencer & Althea Campbell, Larry Biljum and Joseph Fara & Patricia Biljum-Fara, and an uncle, Kenneth John Campbell. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Cathy Campbell of Kalamazoo; maternal grandmother, Christa Biljum; two brothers, and a sister-in-law, Kyle & Maggie Campbell of Portage and Shane Campbell of Kalamazoo; a nephew, Spencer Campbell; aunts and uncles, Bob & Lynda Campbell, Dave & Laurie Campbell, Carolyn & Ed Douma, Karen & Ken VanderLugt, Chris & Chuck Gibson, Michael Biljum and Candy & Mike Markus; and many cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6th from 6-8 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 7th at the funeral home, with a luncheon following the service. Private interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Multiple Sclerosis of Michigan or Gryphon Place.
