Bruce Wayne Hickok, age 65, of Vicksburg, MI formerly of Galien, MI died unexpectedly at 10:46 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 following a health episode while at work near his home in Vicksburg, Michigan. The family is grateful for the anonymous store patron who performed resuscitation until emergency services arrived, and for the efforts of the medics. He was born on November 15, 1950 in Watervliet, MI to Warren Raymond and Joyce Luanna (Hickman) Hickok. He was graduated from the former Galien High School in 1969, and attended Western Michigan University. He moved in 1994 to Vicksburg, where he had been employed at the Family Fare Supermarket for twenty years as of this month. Bruce was a fan of the Detroit Red Wings hockey team and the New York Yankees baseball team. He enjoyed fishing, especially teaching with great patience - new generations to fish. His greatest joy was his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Hickok on February 12, 1988; and by a brother, David Hickok who died on November 12, 1986. Surviving family includes his children, Derek Hickok of Galien, Matthew (& Betsy) Hickok of Niles, and Ross (& Erica) Hickok of College Station, Texas; grandchildren Molli (& Drew Brown) McReynolds, Nolan Hickok, Matthew Hickok, Jr., Liberty Hickok, Justin Souza and Jacob Souza; great-grandchildren Andrew and Annie Brown; Bruce's mother, Joyce Hickok of Galien; and his brothers, Steve (& Carol) Hickok of Leesport, PA, and Mark (& Troy Hodges) Hickok of Tool, TX and sisters, Kathy Hickok of Buchanan, MI and Carol (& Mike) Huffman of Benton Harbor, MI and many nieces and nephews.
