Brian Koss

Koss, Brian W. "The Dude" Brian W. "The Dude" Koss, age 67, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 in Kalamazoo, MI after a brief illness. He was born on March 13, 1949 in Kalamazoo, MI a son of William Joseph and Norma Jean (Johnson) Koss and had been a lifelong area resident. Brian graduated from Portage Northern High School. He entered the US Army and received the Purple Heart during a tour in Vietnam. Brian was employed at Terminix for over 36 years before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cheryl Berndt. On July 24, 1970 Brian married Patricia Fagans, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Jennifer (Cory) Hayden of South Bend, IN, Kerry (Brent Richman) Koss of Portage, Casey Koss of Portage and Brian J. (Alicia) Koss of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Olivia Hotrum and Tyler Koss; and a brother, Kurt (Sandy) Koss of Florida. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life is scheduled for July 30, 2016 time and place TBD. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society or the Kalamazoo Animal Shelter.
