Obituary
Bonnie Jacobson Prentice, known affectionately as Bonnie Jo, passed away on the evening of August 17, 2024, in Kalamazoo, MI. Born on August 2, 1954, in Cadillac, MI, she was a beloved figure known for her sweet smile and gentle demeanor.
As a follower of Christ, Bonnie used her musical gifts in various ways, and as child, she started playing piano standing at the keyboard. She also played guitar in a folk band, and later played bells in her church choir.
Bonnie earned an advanced degree in an Education Specialty and worked as a School Psychologist. Bonnie found much satisfaction working with children throughout her career at Climax-Scotts Community Schools. Her intellect, compassion, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Bonnie cherished her family and was deeply loved by them.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David; and son Kyle (Austin Crandall). Also surviving are Bonnie's brother, Ben (Dee) Jacobson of Cadillac and sisters, Beverly (Ian) Rogers of Cadillac, Beth (Tim) Anderson of Santa Rosa CA, sister-in-law Judy (Bob Jacobson) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother Bob and parents Randolph and Lois Jacobson of Cadillac.
Bonnie's celebration of life will be held August 30th, 2:30 PM at Living Light Christian Church 7700 W. Blue Rd, Lake City MI 49651
where friends and family will gather to honor and remember her.
The family will be available to receive guests at 2 PM before the service. Private family interment will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Alzheimer's Association, honoring Bonnie's compassionate spirit. Her warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
