Bob Sanford

Bob Sanford, 78 of Traverse City died Saturday, May 30, 2015.

He was born on January 30, 1937 in Flint the son of Leonard Sanford and Marguerite (VanParis) Sanford

Bob retired as a design supervisor with General Motors in Lansing after 38 years of service.

He was an avid woodworker, loved to sail and be on the water. Bob volunteered as a Campground Host with his wife, Bunny at the Interlochen State Park for 9 years and previously volunteered with the Traverse City Senior Center. While living in Kentucky, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of the Michigan Motor Wheels Camping Club.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bunny Sanford of Traverse City, MI; children, Toby Sanford of Oceanside, CA, Shari (John) Stelzer of Williamsburg and their children, Jocelyn and Elizabeth, great-grand son Carson John, and Amy Castanon of Lansing, MI and her daughter, Myranda; foster daughters, Tiffany Morfin of Seattle, WA and Natalie Nguyen of Bloomington, IN and siblings, Ray Sanford of Wheatland, WY, Rich Sanford of Potterville, MI and sister, Lori McSwain of Astoria, Oregon.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lucille Allard of Charlevoix, MI.

Cremation has taken place. An informal gathering will take place, 2:30pm to 4:30pm, Friday, June 19, 2015 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. A brief service will be held at 4:30pm.
