Beverly Prior

Beverly J. Prior, age 83, of Kalamazoo, MI went to be with her Lord, Sunday evening, December 3, 2017. Beverly was born March 3, 1934 in Plainwell, MI the daughter of the late Donald and Marian (Richardson) Stilson and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo College and was a longtime member (55 years) of Westwood United Methodist Church. Beverly was very active in her church and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading. On June 28, 1952 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Thomas Prior who preceded her in death on March 4, 1993. Surviving are her children, Donald (Laura) Prior, Michael Prior, James (Heidi) Prior, Susan Prior, Mary (Terry) Merkle; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Chipman; and 2 nieces and a nephew. Friends may meet the family from 6-8pm Wednesday, December 6; and 10-12pm Thursday, December 7 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, December 7 at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Rd. with Rev. Dr. Wayne Price officiating. Private family interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Westwood United Methodist Church.
