Betty Stoner

Betty L. Stoner, age 87, of Plainwell, MI passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Vicinia Gardens in Otsego. She was born June 17, 1929 in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of Norman and Gladys (Kilts) Bennett. For many years Betty was a beautician until her retirement in 1977. She was an avid crafter and in her spare time enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling. On May 17, 1947, in Kalamazoo, she married Everett Stoner and had recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. Surviving are her husband, Everett; children, Janice Double and Steve (Penny) Stoner both of Plainwell; 4 grandchildren, Jamy Bowman, Jerry Bowe and her children, Morgan, Brea and CJ, Kasey Stroud and her children, Aiden and Audrey and Gabrial Stoner and his children, Evan and Blake along with her sister, Joyce (Joe) Catolica. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Genniveve, Phyllis, Gloria, Joan, Carl and Robert. Friends may visit with Betty's family starting at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Celebrant, Bill Rose officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
