Betty Steinberg

Betty passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. She was born April 5, 1936 in Plainwell the daughter of Lloyd and Sarah (Newnum) Chapman. Betty was a bus driver for Otsego Public Schools for more than 35 years. As a young woman she enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband. Betty loved working in her garden and would pull a weed anywhere she saw one. She was a member of the SEIU for over 30 years. On May 10, 1952 in Otsego she married Harry Steinberg who survives. Also surviving are her son, Doug (Sara) Steinberg of Otsego; 2 grandchildren, Nathan (Lesley) Steinberg of Caledonia and Steve (Michele) Steinberg of Dorr; 4 great-grandchildren, Ayden, Spencer, Harrison and Natalie and her sister, Sharon (Lenny) Chavez. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Lloyd and siblings, Bud, Dale and Joyce. Friends may meet with Betty's family from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
