Betty Morris

Betty Morris, age 85, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 27, 2017 at her home. Betty was born March 23, 1931 in Jackson, MI the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Sergeant) Preston. She was employed for over 30 years with Karl’s, Hardings, and D and W grocery stores. Betty was a member of Milwood United Methodist Church, and enjoyed traveling, knitting, and doing word search puzzles. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. On June 6, 1952 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Patrick, who preceded her in death on November 21, 1989. She was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Betty is survived by her children, Gloria (Bill) Gringhuis, Carol (Hector) Morris-Mier, Patrick II (Barbara) Morris; 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Jessyka, and William-Patrick; 9 great-grandchildren, Cara, Patricia, Noah, Jessi, Jienne-Marie, Jocelyn, Austin, Aiden, and Lily; a brother, John (Bonnie) Preston; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 5-8 pm Wednesday evening, March 1 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday March 2, at the Milwood United Methodist Church, 3919 Portage Rd. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Milwood United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels.
