Betty Molenaar

Went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Betty was born in Kalamazoo on January 3, 1923, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Elizabeth (VerHulst) Louis. Betty was a loving, kind, gentle and generous woman who was a joy to know. She had a faithful spirit and was a long time member of Fourth Reformed Church and was currently a member at Milwood Community Church. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir for many years. She loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved family gatherings and was always baking and cooking something special to enjoy. Her faithfulness and kindness will be missed by all who loved her. On March 24, 1945, she married the love of her life, Joe Molenaar who preceded her in passing on June 15, 2005. Betty is survived by her three children, Betty Jo (Gordon) Oosse, Sally (Tom) Drenth and Rev. Michael (Debra) Molenaar; ten grandchildren, Rebecca (Brent) Buning, Christopher (Monique) Oosse, Steven (Linda) Oosse, Matthew (Sheila) Drenth, Brian (Caryn) Drenth, Paul (Lisa) Drenth, Elizabeth (Ryan) Arkema, Erin (Jeff) Peek, Jacque (Keith) Leloux, and Daniel Molenaar; twenty-three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 25, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Milwood Community Church, 3306 Lovers Ln., Portage, MI 49001, beginning at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Brian Seifert officiating. Private interment at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Park Village Pines or Milwood Community Church, c/o the funeral home.
