Betty Jean Burdick (née Tuttle) Devoted Wife, Loving Mother, Beloved Aunt, Cousin and Friend to many, passed away peacefully at Oak Ridge Care Center Saturday Nov 21st with her family by her side.

Betty was born in Racine, WI on Dec. 28, 1936 to Eugene and Bessie (nee Harcus) Tuttle. Betty was married to the love of her life Richard I Burdick on Oct. 3, 1959. She is survived by her daughters: Heather (and Rick) Schaefer and Tammy (and Dean) LaMarr. Grandchildren: Cody and Ross LaMarr and Justin and Colette Schaefer, Nephews and Nieces: Matt (and Maria) Tuttle, Ginger Thiesen, Dawn Johnson and David Burdick and Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law: Dave and Donna Burdick.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard I Burdick. She was also preceded in death by her parents Eugene & Bessie (nee Harcus) Tuttle and her brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Patricia Tuttle.

Betty graduated from Park H.S. in Racine, WI and attended Milwaukee School of Cosmetology and graduated as a Beautician and Manager. She worked until the birth of her children at LaMode Beauty Shop. After her children left the house she went to work at Ridgewood Care Center and Fountain Hills as a beautician.

Betty was a proud long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Racine WI, where she sang in the choir and served as a deacon. She was also a member of the Annie Laurie’s and the Cackle Card Club. Betty and Dick enjoyed camping and were long time members of the Holiday Ramblers Trailer Club.

Betty was always taking care of everyone! She would be the first to your house to bring you baked goods (which all of us that loved Betty know where always wonderful!). If you were sick… she was there to hold your hand, or bring you chicken soup and Kleenex! Betty always had love to share with all of us! For her friends that were house bound… Betty would schedule private house calls so she could do their hair for them. Betty will always be remembered for her bigger than life heart, smiling face and her wonderful desserts! Betty was a pet lover and loved her dogs! She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and unlike so many was able to preserve her kind, gentle, loving nature…which she shared with all that knew her!

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday November 28, 2015, 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gillian Weighton and Rev. Steve Fringer officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or First Presbyterian Church.

Betty’s family would like to provide a special thanks to all the loving staff members at Oak Ridge Care Center for providing her with wonderful care.
