Betty J. Kowalsky, age 84, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Monica’s Senior Living. She was born in Racine, March 30, 1933, daughter of the late Don and Blanche (Nee: Haman) Hauch.

Betty was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, “Class of 1951”. On April 11, 1953 Betty was united in marriage to Joseph E. Kowalsky who preceded her in death on March 21, 2003. Betty was employed at Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store for a number of years until her retirement.

She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Above all she cherished time spent with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Robert J. (Susan) Kowalsky, Linda (Joe) Mattie, Mary Jo (Steve) Cappelen; grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Erin (Chad), Becki (Shawon), Amy, Katie; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Marilynn) Hauch; brother-in-law, Junior Bill West; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her sister Joan West.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev Ricardo Martin officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation on Monday at the church, 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts. Memorial, in lieu of flowers, are suggested for St. Monica’s Senior Living or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to her caregivers at St. Monica’s Senior Living for their loving and compassionate care.
