Betty Lou Hobson, age 88, of Lansing, MI loving mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Betty was born on July 15, 1928 in Dayton, OH the daughter of James and Harriet (Sprout) Brown. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School class of 1946. Betty resided in Lansing, MI for 50 years where she was active as a Girl Scout leader, P.T.A. mom, Dewitt Twp. elections precinct captain, a founding member of the Valley Farms Hobby Club and a longtime member of North Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors; camping, golfing, skiing, gardening and fishing. Betty was above all a dedicated mother and grandmother who cherished time with her family. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hampton "Ham" Hobson; daughter, Brenda Cody; grandson, James Cody II and four sisters. Surviving Betty are her children, Hampton (Barbara) Hobson, Harold "Hal" (Peter Morse) Hobson, Shirley (Moran) Doyle; grandchildren, Katie (Brian Davis) Hobson, Matt (Fee Behrens) Hobson, Richard (Cathy) Hanson, Lisa (Tim Trowbridge) Renew, Nicole Cody, Joshua Cody; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Alison Eichorn, Christian and Celeste Hanson, Kalobe Behrens, Dylan Lee, Jaysen Cody; sister-in-law, Sandra Hogg and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017 at North Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lansing with burial following at Gunnisonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
