Betty Hattan

Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Betty was born April 7, 1937 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Richard and Donna (Demond) Weber. She enjoyed gardening, raising tomatoes and was known to many as the 'Strawberry Lady". Betty especially enjoyed spending time with her family; the children she took care of during her daycare years and working with her husband in their small family business "Nature's Acres". On November 5, 1954 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of nearly 67 years, Howard Hattan who survives. Also surviving are her sons, Tim Hattan, Scott (Pat) Hattan, Bill Hattan; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special families, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Swartzloff, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Powell. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John Terburg; sister, Connie Pegura; and brother, Lyman Weber. Friends may meet the family from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday evening, November 4 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 411 E. Centre, Portage, MI 49002. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 5 in Genessee Prairie Cemetery in Oshtemo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
