Bernice Kamin, age 102, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 26, 2017, at Ridgewood Care

Center. She was born in Racine, January 15, 1915, to the late John and Katy Wielgat and was a lifelong resident.

She married Walter J. Kamin and to this union brought 3 sons, Robert, George, and Jerome. Walter preceded her in death November 25, 1971. Bernice was employed at Hamilton Beach Co for 20 years and then at Voorlas Mfg for 6 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A fabulous cook, Bernice enjoyed feeding family and friends, shopping, gardening, playing cards, and exploring estate sales. Throughout her life and even the past few years at Ridgewood she dressed fashionably complete with jewelry. A kind and loving person, she will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Steve Kamin, Brian Kamin, Christine (Steve) Tasa, and Michelle Buiso; a great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Shirley (Robert) Jordan; sister-in-law, Betty Wielgat; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, husband and sons, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lorri, John, Walter, and Stanley.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 8, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., Reverend Steve Varghese officiating. Inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet at the church at 9:00 A.M. before the Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church have been suggested.
