Bernice Drake

Bernice Mary Drake, age 93, passed away on October 21, 2016 at her residence in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born in Kalamazoo 1923 to Alfred and Magdalena (Hacker) Wolf. She graduated from Mattawan High School where she met her future husband, Charles Nelson Drake. In 1942 she and Charles married and settled in Kalamazoo, raising 5 children. She was a long-time member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, serving in the Catholic Daughters of America and in the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She also contributed to her parish through designing and sewing liturgical garments. She is survived by her children, Patricia Goff of Portage, Joseph (Dianna) Drake of Phoenix, AZ, Thomas (Pennie) Drake of Decatur and Maria Drake of Albuguerque NM. four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Michael J. Drake and grandson John M. Drake, siblings Bernard Wolff, Lucille Wolff, Chester (Chet) Wolff, James Wolff, Patrick Wolff and son in law Gary A Goff. A memorial service is being held at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Kalamazoo MI at 11am Friday, November 4th, 2016.
