Clark, Bernard Larry Wayland Bernard passed away December 4, 2016, at his home. Bernard was born December 8, 1931, in Kalamazoo, the son of Robert and Mildred (Zippernick) Clark. A veteran, Bernard proudly served his country in United State Marine Corps. Bernard was a union carpenter, foreman and supervisor at Miller Davis for over twenty six years. He also worked at the Radisson Hotel and the Amway Grand Plaza, in the engineering department. A Ham radio enthusiast, Bernard was instrumental in the MARS system during the Viet Nam War, and was very active in Civil Defense communications. Bernard was awarded the Scout Master of the Year, when his children were involved with scouts. He enjoyed woodworking, as he was a very handy person, who could build anything. On June 27, 1987, Bernard married Rena (Corning) who preceded him in death on November 12, 2015. Bernard is survived by his children: Bernard L. (Anita) Clark Jr., Terry (Gary) Rogers, Sheryl Clark and Linda Clark, step-children: Jeff Lloyd, and Brian (Tammie) Lloyd, a sister, Susanne (David) Miller, six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Bernard was also preceded in death by his parents, step children: Mark and Pete Lloyd and brothers: Dale and Robert Clark. A memorial service will be conducted, Friday, December 9, 2016, 11:00 AM, at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home, with Pastor Merle Buwalda, officiating.
