Bernard “Bernie” A. Rabitoy

Sturtevant

Surrounded by his loving family, Bernard A. Rabitoy, “Bernie”, age 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his home. He was born in Stephenson, MI, October 1, 1934, son of the late Edward and Emma (nee: Laduc) Rabitoy.

On July 18, 1959, in Menominee, MI, he was united to the love of his life, Anita L. Becraft and together they moved to Racine. Bernie was employed at AMC/Chrysler for 32 years, retiring in 1991. Bernie was a member of the Circle 8 Square Dancers. He enjoyed woodworking and working in the yard. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed rooting for his Detroit Lions. Above all it was the time he spent with his family especially his grandkids that he treasured the most. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Anita; his sons, Michael Rabitoy and David (Joann) Rabitoy; granddaughter, Bethany; great grandchildren, Alivia and Payton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he as preceded in death by his older siblings, Edith, Stella, Ella Mae, Edmond, and Ruth.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 5:00 P.M. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Wednesday 4:00 P.M. until time of service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Aurora Hospice especially the two Brianna’s and Kate for their loving and compassionate care.
