Benjamin Watkins

WATKINS, BENJAMIN C. Benjamin Christopher Watkins, nine months, of Quincy, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Helen Devos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids after a long fight with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. He was born on December 13, 2021 to Patrick Richard and Katherine Jane (Willard) Watkins. Benjamin defied many odds making it to nine months of life. He fought so hard to overcome so many obstacles, one being successfully decannulated from ECMO after 44 days. He was so loved by his family, and they would like to thank the immeasurable number of people that prayed for Benjamin. In addition to his parents, Benjamin is survived by his paternal grandparents, Fred (and Tammi) Watkins, Lonnie Neuman; maternal grandparents, Jody (Schultz) Willard and William (and Pamela) Willard. Benjamin was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Richard Neuman and great-aunt, Barbara "Babs" Hallock. A memorial visitation for Benjamin Christopher Watkins will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 2-4 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy. Memorial contributions are suggested to the CDH Stars and Angels, a nonprofit patient advocacy organization for families affected by CDH.
