Barbara Wolthuis, age 77, of Kalamazoo, MI entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 30, 2017. Barbara was born October 4, 1939 in Kalamazoo to the late Howard and Alice (Doorn) Pollard. She was united in marriage on November 1, 1957 to Paul Wolthuis, who lovingly cared for her until she was called to her eternal home. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker but she also drove a school bus for Mattawan schools for 20 years. Barbara loved her Lord. She served many years volunteering at Calvary Reformed Church from Sunday School to Vacation Bible School among many other programs. She also loved being a Grandma and Great Grandma; family was so very important to her. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Paul of 59 years; children, Jeff (Tracie) Wolthuis, Pam (Tony) DeWaal, and Doug Wolthuis; grandchildren, Danelle (Cam) Drake, Katie (Phil) Doorlag, Jolie (Kevin) Sportel, Erik Triestram, Justin Triestram, Caleb Triestram and Carly Triestram; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Lois Pollard and David Pollard; brothers-in-law, Dan (Libby) Wolthuis, Jerry (Doris) Wolthuis and Terry (Jean) Wolthuis; sisters-in-law, Jackie Wolthuis, Betty Wolthuis, Betty (Babe) Wolthuis, Sally Wolthuis, Pat Wolthuis and, and brother-in-law, Bill Kollar; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Oliver J. Pollard. The family will greet friends on Friday, February 3rd from 10-11am at Texas Corners Bible Church where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. The family invites you to a luncheon directly after the service. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Texas Corners. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara's name may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan.
