Barbara Mae Rowe (Godshall), 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 18, 2017. She was born August 23, 1926 in Oshkosh, WI to Howard and Jessie Godshall. Barb graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago in 1948 with a BA in Speech. She married Edward M. Rowe, October 24, 1964. The couple moved to Racine in 1966. They had one son, David (deceased). Edward Rowe passed away October 19, 2015. She is survived by two cousins Peter (Kay) Hansen of Oshkosh, WI and Deborah Carls of Franklin, WI, three nieces and one nephew, Melody Gunn of Evanston, IL, Susan Rowe of Brooklyn, NY, Joyce Rowe of Chicago, IL and Andrew Rowe (Rebecca) of Petersburg, IL. She and Edward have several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Barb was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church. She and Ed were actively involved in the First Presbyterian Church of Racine, since moving to Racine. She was a beloved member of P.E.O., an international women’s fellowship which provides financial assistance in educational endeavors. Barb enjoyed theatre, dancing, sports and bridge. She and her husband Ed traveled extensively after he retired from Case IH. She and Ed were also active at the University of Illinois where they provided scholarships for students majoring in English.

Funeral services will be held on August 23, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Racine, 716 College Ave. The visitation begins at 9:30am with the service at 10:30am with Reverend Gillian Weighton and Rev. Steven Fringer officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow the service. The burial will be at Graceland Cemetery after the luncheon. Education was very important to Barb and Ed. Donations could be made to the education of a loved one or memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Racine in the name of Barbara M., Edward M. and David E. Rowe.
