Klibbe, Arthur W. 2/14/1926 - 11/16/2016 Arthur Willard Klibbe was born February 14, 1926, the second son of Arthur R. and Lelah Klibbe. He grew up in the depression years in Plainwell, MI. Upon high school graduation in 1943, Arthur followed his older brother, Orville, enlisting in the military. Art served in the USMC's Pacific Campaign in WWII. He married his lifelong love and wife of 68 years, Rose Racz after returning to Kalamazoo, MI. They had twins, Diane & David Klibbe, before Arthur returned to military duty, enlisting in the USN during the Korean War. Art used his USN electronics training to launch a career that would take his family from Michigan to New Jersey, Illinois and ultimately Colorado. Art spent 38 years as an electrical engineer with Bell Telephone Laboratories. Sons Mark (Pam) Klibbe and Jim (Nan) Klibbe completed the family which grew to include six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Colorado climate relieved Art of a lifelong health struggle with allergies. An active skier, golfer, hiker, fisherman and camper; Art's life was reborn. Art and Rose spent their retirement years co-citizens of Colorado and Texas where golf, fishing, camping, family & snowbird friends kept them active. Art and Rose were proud of their family that followed them to Colorado where the family grew and they spent time following grandkids sporting activities, as well as the Broncos & Rockies. The family celebrated Art and Rose's 50th wedding anniversary together in Hawaii. Their Texas border home served as a launch point for family winter vacations. Colorado also brought the lifelong reunion of Arthur and his brother Orville (Grace) Klibbe in 2007 after Orville and Grace joined their son Steve (Connie) Klibbe's family in Fort Collins, CO. The family would like to thank The Bridge Assisted Living, Suncrest Hospice and Ahlberg Funeral Chapel for their gracious support. No local services to be held. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Share condolences at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
