Life Story / Obituary
Age 84, died September 14, 2016 at his home. Art was born May 14, 1932 in Standish, the son of Frank and Mary (Gryzch) Pula. He served in the Army during Korea and retired from the Upjohn Company following 35 years of service and received the W.E. Upjohn Award. Art was very active with United Way, American Red Cross, Kairos Dwelling and school reading programs. He was a former member of St. Joseph Church and member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. Art was preceded in death 3 siblings: Walt and Joe Pula and Dolores Hammond. On May 29, 1954 in E. Lansing, he was united in marriage to Patricia (McGovern) Pula, who survives. Also surviving are 5 children: Christopher Pula (Thom Biggert), Gregory Pula, Anne Marie Pula-Campbell (Matthew Campbell), John (Pamela) Pula and Barbara (Nick) Ostrosky; 5 grandchildren: Claire, Cristine, Mark, Laurel and Abigail; brother, Mitch (Elaine) Pula and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church with visitation beginning at 10am. A luncheon will follow the mass in Marian Hall.
