Anne Gerve, age 92, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Racine Commons. Anne was born in Racine, April 2, 1923, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Nee: Vinskus) Gerve.

An avid reader, Anne also enjoyed classical music, art (old masters), opera, coin collecting, Wednesday double coupons at the grocery store, rummage sale hunting for treasures and trash, British movies, cooking shows (she made a “mean” turkey gravy) and flowers. A feisty little lady who enjoyed simple frugal living, Anne will be fondly remembered for the sparkle in her eye, her beautiful singing voice, and her selfless nature always doing for others. Her pride and joy was caring for and spending time with her beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

She will be dearly missed by her twin sister, Julie Arents; nieces, Linda Matson, Lisa (Michael) Koenen; nephew, Douglas (Marcia) Arents; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother; three sisters; brother-in-law, LeRoy Arents; and nephew, Mitchell Arents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, with Ricardo Martin officiating.
