Anna Marie Thomas, age 93, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Conde, SD; September 11, 1923, daughter of the late Alphonse and Veronica (Nee:Thielen) Koenig.

On July 26, 1943, in Los Angeles, CA, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leonard Thomas, prior to his being deployed to the Pacific Theatre, WWII. Anna worked at Oster Manufacturing, was a manager of Merle Norman Cosmetics, and later worked at the Case Corporation. She was also a member of the UAW Local 180 Retirees where she served on the election and community meals committees, and the Belle City Seniors whom she served as entertainment chairman.

Anna loved music. She played piano and accordion by ear and entertained as well as led many sing-a-longs for years throughout the community. She and Leonard were honored to be members of the Knights and Ladies of Columbus, Council #697, where they made treasured friends. Anna was blessed with many kind neighbors whom she dearly loved. Anna was a wonderful homemaker and hostess. She especially enjoyed baking and sharing the products of her efforts with family and friends.

Time spent with family was most treasured. Weekend gatherings with sisters’ families, in younger years, and visits with daughters and their families were memorable events.

Surviving are her daughters, Patricia A. (Robert) Garin of MN, Leonora M. (James) Nehmer, Monica M. Thomas, both of Racine, Mary Beth (Darrell) Tukua of MN; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
