Ann Bruemmer, age 95, of Mattawan was called home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2018. Ann passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Aschau am. Inn, Germany on October 16, 1922, daughter to the late Edward and Anna (Maier) Bloechl. Ann immigrated to the United States in 1951. On December 20, 1952 Ann married Gunter Bruemmer in Chicago, Illinois, who preceded her in death May 4, 2016. Together they raised three children, Stewart, Linda and Norman. In 1968 the family moved to Paw Paw and owned Green Acres Motel for many years. Ann was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Spending time with her family and friends was very important to her. She enjoyed entertaining at holidays and would spend many hours cooking and preparing. Arts and crafts were a favorite pastime for Ann, she especially enjoyed needlework and painting. Ann leaves behind her three children, Stewart (Debra) Bruemmer of Mattawan, Linda Bruemmer of Kalamazoo and Norman Bruemmer of Kalamazoo, four grandchildren, Christopher Bruemmer of Kalamazoo, Jessica (Cody) Anderson of Bangor, Alexander Bruemmer of Portland Oregon and Simone Bruemmer of Kalamazoo, two great grandchildren, Hailey Bruemmer and Hunter Anderson, two sisters, Albina (Frank) Voss of Chicago and Lore Magdalener of Chicago, along with extended family in Germany and Chicago. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 12, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with Fr. Joseph Xavier officiating. Burial will conclude at Saint Mary Cemetery.
