She graduated from Traverse City St. Francis High School and continued to reside in Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Wexford counties for the remainder of her years. On Feb. 14, 1970, she married John (Jack) G. Tillie, who preceded her in death on April 26, 1986.

Angie became a familiar face to many locals while employed at various stores and shops throughout the area until her retirement at age 82. Angie was a member of the Traverse City St. Francis Church and the Traverse City VFW Post 2580 Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Angie is survived by daughters, Shirley A. (Jim) Barnett of East Jordan, Barbara L. (Henry) Bowers of Traverse City; son, Michael W. (Kim) Sodergren of Dundee; her sister, Marian Miester of Easton, Pennsylvania; and sisters-in-law, Jane (David) Long of Portage and Janeth (T.J.) Lawson of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Angie’s later family included stepchildren; Lynda Tillie, John Tillie, Christopher Tillie and Timothy Tillie; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Aug. 13, at the Life Story Funeral Home of Traverse City at 11 a.m. preceded by family visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

The family would like to especially thank every member of the Cherry Pavilion staff at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for the wonderful and loving care given to Angie during her time of need and for all of the courtesies extended to all members of Angie’s family during this stressful period.
