Angelita Puente

Angelita Puente, age 70, of Holland went to be with Jesus, Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home.

Angie was a devoted mother, grandmother, loving and supportive aunt. She loved God, music, dancing, novelas and participating in family functions. Angie was joyful, had a big heart, humorous, meek, loving, caring, resourceful, creative, a cool aunt and had a big smile. She was a graduate of La Feria High School. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was employed at Double Tree by Hilton in Holland. Angie was a prayer warrior, kept God and family first, and strived to be a righteous and faithful person. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Solano, parents Francisco and Paulina Puente, brother’s Joseph Puente, and Norberto Puente and a nephew Joe Puente Jr.

She is survived by her children: Sylvia and Juan Rodriguez and Josie Solano; step-children: Maria Galaviz and Robert and Crystal Solano; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother and sisters: Isabel and Sophia Puente, Thomasa Cavazos and Juanita Garcia; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial mass will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 West 13th Street in Holland. Father Bill Vander Werff will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, with wake prayers at 7:30 pm, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland.
