Angeline (DeHaan) DeBoer of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the age of 90. Angeline was born in Kalamazoo on January 16, 1927, the daughter of the late John E DeHaan Sr. and Engeltje (DeVries) DeHaan. Throughout most of her life she was a devoted homemaker and also served as a Kalamazoo Township Crossing Guard at Indian Prairie School. She was a charter member of Immanuel Fellowship Church, and a former member of Third Reformed and Hope Reformed Church, where she served faithfully as Librarian for many years. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed reading, music and flower gardening, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was united in marriage to Gerald M. DeBoer on January 1, 1947. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage before Gerald's passing on January 15, 2015. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Janice) DeBoer of Plainwell, Janice (Mark) Oosterhouse of Mattawan and Karen (Jack) Hazzard of Paw Paw; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Karelyn, Kevin, Jennifer, Shelly, Angela and Jonathon; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (Leona) DeHaan of Mancelona; and sisters-in-law, Bernice DeHaan of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Egbert, Ralph, John Jr., George, Johanna, and infant granddaughter, Rebecca Anne. Private interment took place in West Cooper Cemetery. A celebration of life service for Gerald and Angeline will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Immanuel Fellowship Church, 6015 West H Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with Pastor William Boekenstein officiating.
