Andrea Lynn Kahn and her twin, Donna, were born in Boston on August 31, 1946. Six years later, the Kahn family moved to a suburb, Needham, where she and Donna grew up. Andrea attended Boston University, and in her sophomore year she took a biology course taught by Frank N. Egerton. After that school year, she and Frank married on August 20, 1966, and then they moved to Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, where Frank began work as an editor of a history of botany. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a psychology degree in 1968. In 1970, their son, David, was born, and later that summer the family moved to Racine, as Frank had obtained a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, to teach history of science and also American environmental history. In 1971, Andrea obtained a position as a social worker on the mental health ward at St. Luke’s Hospital. Andrea and Frank’s daughter, Rachel was born in 1973. In 1979 Andrea received her Master of Social Work from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and then worked as a supervisor-administrator in several positions before she decided to join Concord Staff Source, in Milwaukee, as a health professionals recruiter for hospitals nation-wide. She retired in 2012.

In Racine, Andrea was an active member of the Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church, and she worked for many years coordinating the bi-monthly Diners Circle. She also enjoyed attending the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performances. Andrea and Frank celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, August 20, 2016, and her seventieth birthday, August 31, 2016, and she died on September 17. She is survived by husband, Frank, son David, daughter, Rachel and sisters Donna Mullins and Myra Adams, and by Rachel’s husband David Rueter and their children, Ashley and Andrew, and several nephews and a niece.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016, 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tony Larsen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until time of service at 6:30 P.M. Memorials to UNICEF or to Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church have been suggested.
