With his family by his side, Anastastios K. Kokkinakis, age 83, passed away peacefully Thursday October 13, 2016 at his home. Anastasios was born in Kenourgio, Chorio, Mesinia, Greece on September 1, 1933, son of the late Constantinos and Efstathia (nee: Lykos) Kokkinakis. He served in the Greek Navy for eight years.

On March 11, 1962, he was united in marriage to Mary Demetriou in Athens, Greece and later that year moved to America to start a brand new life together. Anastasios was employed with Styberg Engineering for many years until his retirement in 1999. He was a dedicated member of Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, G.A.P.A, and The Grand Lodge Masons. His greatest passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Anastasios will be forever remembered for his gentle kind heart, wishing everyone he knew good health and happiness.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Mary; daughter, Esther (David) Tegel; daughter-in-law, Toni Kokkinakis; grandchildren, Marria and Dominic Kokkinakis, Nicholas and Anastasia Tegel; sisters, Anna (Vasili) Spyropoulos, Tasia (Mihali) Bobolis; brother-in-law, Jim Demetriou; sister-in-law, Despina (Taki) Vlastara; nieces, nephews, many first cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Anastasios was also preceded in death by his son Constantinos.

Funeral services will be held at the Kimissis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, Monday October 17, 2016, 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Athanasios C. Pieri officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (Trisagion service at 5:30 p.m.). Memorials to Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to his caregivers, Jim Demetriou and Leftheri Vezerides and the staff at Kindred Hospice for all of their loving and compassionate care.

“May his memory be Eternal”.
