Alvera “Tootie” Radwill left us peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, with her family at her side. She joined her beloved husband, Arthur R. Radwill, and loving parents, Henry and Bertha (Giese) Meltzer, in eternal life.

Tootie was born in Racine, WI on April 3, 1923. She grew up on Kinzie Avenue with her family and friends. On July 8, 1944, Tootie married the love of her life, Arthur. She continued her family’s legacy by running Master Appliance Corp. with her husband until her retirement.

Tootie was a natural leader and the foundation of her family. She was beloved by all that knew her. Tootie epitomized beauty and class. She was happiest entertaining her family and friends at her home and cottage. She loved golf, bridge, gardening, needlework, “putzing” around outside at Pan Yack Park in the summer and traveling to the warm Florida sun in the winter. She was well traveled and was always looking forward to her next adventure. Never wanting to slow down, Tootie lived 93 years to its fullest.

Tootie is survived by her son Scott (Kathie) Radwill, daughter Linda Radwill, grandchildren John Vlasak, Robert Radwill, and Lauren Radwill, great-grandchildren, Julia and Isabelle Vlasak, as well as nieces and nephews, her caregiver, Gina Chimova, and many dear friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Tootie is preceded in death by her brother Rudolph (Florence “Tootie”) Meltzer.

Funeral services will be held at Maresh Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. There will be a visitation before the service starting at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow the funeral at Holy Cross Cemetery on Hwy 32 in Racine.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Health Care Network, Inc. or the Women’s Resource Center.
