Allan E. Horn Sr., age 91, of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on October 17, 2017. Born in Oak Park Illinois, Mr. Horn spent his early years as a Northern city broadcast show host in what was then known as "Personality Radio". Horn then founded Allan Broadcast Productions in 1960, recording national and regional shows and commercials for tv and radio for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. Described as "the voice with a smile", Horn was heard in most all broadcast markets in the U.S. and Canada. Locally he was credited as President, with bringing the Mount Dora "SHOWTIME" community concert series back from the brink of oblivion, to overflow for crowds for every show. Finally retiring again after a successful six years. Horn was a member and former commodore of the Mount Dora Yacht Club and the Mount Dora Kiwanis Club. Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his wife Joan Horn and his son, Allan Horn Jr. He leaves behind a brother, Robert and his wife Nancy Horn of Kalamazoo, MI (Kissimme FL). A son, James J and wife Jennifer Horn of Kalamazoo, MI. Two grandchildren, John D and wife Patty Horn of Sarasota, FL, Michelle M and husband Scott Gates of Tampa, FL and three great grandchildren, Ashley, Breanna and Zachary.
