Allan Bregger

Allan Bregger, age 85, of Bangor, MI passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home. Allan was born June 12, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the son of Louis and Evelyn (Root) Bregger. Allan served with the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bangor Lions, Jaycees, American Legion Post #160 where he served as Chaplain for years, and was a life long member of the Bangor 1st Congregational Church. There he was an usher, head of the food pantry, Sunday School teacher, and will be greatly missed by all of the congregation. Surviving are 8 children, Lynda (Rod) Petrenchak of Seattle, WA, Brenda (Dave) Harrington of Kalamazoo, Luanne (Rick) Reeves of Berrien Springs, Rick (Lori) Bregger of Park City, UT, Susan (Don) Juzwiak of Kalamazoo, Loretta Johnson of Portage, Phillip (Mary) Baber of Seattle, WA, David (Nelda) Bregger of Austin, TX; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Alice, Lois, Doris; a brother, Don; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Betty in 2013. The family will meet friends 5-8 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Bangor 1st Congregational Church. Interment will follow in Hoppin Cemetery where military honors will be given. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bangor 1st Congregational Church or the American Legion Post 160.
