Alice Washtoak, age 84, of Plainwell passed away on Oct. 12, 2015 at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell. Alice was born on July 6, 1931 to C. Allen & Julia (Brown) Tandy. Visit with her family and friends and view her life story film on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Life Story Funeral Home, Plainwell; 120 Woodhams St. (685-5881). A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Alice’s family includes her friend and companion of 8 years, Jack Weingartz; her children: Don Ploof, Bill Ploof, Robert Ploof and Matthew (Pamela) Ploof; her sister Georgia Mae (Leroy “Babe”) Young; two step-children: Carol and Buck Washtoak; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Don Ploof and her second husband John Washtoak; her parents; children: Kathryn Clark and Thomas Ploof; two siblings: Charles Tandy and Gail Tandy and one grandchild: Tony Ploof. Alice enjoyed knitting and reading romance novels. She also enjoyed watching the Tigers, the Spartans (Go Green) and playing video games especially Zelda.
