Lalomia, Alberta 3/7/1947 - 3/28/2022 Naples, FL Alberta (Berta) Louise Lalomia 75 yrs old, Naples FL died on Monday March 28, 2002. What were Alberta (Berta) Louise Lalomia's proudest accomplishments? She would say four beautiful grandchildren, two sons and her marriage of 52 years to Samuel Lalomia. She made her career in nursing, caring for people and this also carried over to her personal life. Alberta would always make sure that people laughed, loved and were well fed. She always met you with a smile and you immediately felt a personal connection with her and could feel her genuine compassion and interest in you as a person. Berta was born to Louis Neiman and Virginia Hogan in Detroit. Virginia died during childbirth and Alberta went to live with her two aunts, Clare Miller and Cleo Proctor, for three years and then moved back to Dearborn to live with her father, Louis and his new wife Anne, where she was the oldest of three children in the household. She graduated with her nursing degree from Harper Hospital School of Nursing. She married Samuel on May 2nd, 1969 and moved to Jackson, MI where she continued her career Vista Grande Villa, then W.A. Foote Hospital. Her nursing career concluded in the chronic pain clinic. She had her first child, Christopher, one year after getting married and then had her second child, Brent, 4 years later. She was active in both of their childhoods, making sure that they were raised in a loving home all while continuing her career as a nurse. She was also a registered clown and under the name "BandAyd" and would go out and spread joy and love around the Jackson area. She was an active member at St. Mary's Star of the Sea catholic church in Jackson. Berta was able to achieve one of her life goals of living in Florida in the Forest Glen Subdivision in Naples FL where she spent the majority of her last five years, meeting even more friends. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. Whether it be "Grandma and Grandpa Camp", when her grandkids would come spend a week with her and Sam, or attending their school and sporting events, this was where she was happiest. Alberta is survived by her husband, Samuel, sons Christopher (Nicolle) and Brent (Melissa), grandchildren, Sydney (23), Austin (20), Anthony (17) and Zachary (15). She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Hogan, father, Louis Nieman, step-mother, Ann Nieman, brothers, Roy and Mark Nieman, and her aunts, Clare "Shorty" Miller and Cleo Proctor. There will be a funeral service at St. Mary's Star of the Sea catholic church in Jackson, MI on Friday May 6 at 10:30 with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Mary's School in Jackson, MI where both her boys attended grade school in her honor. She lived her life with Compassion, Care and Joy
